项目背景
Chinaway Volunteers Program 是连续了十几年的暑假义工项目。这个项目的口号是“帮助他人，提高自己”。在过去的16年里，该项目不仅帮助中国农村及乡镇孩子学习英语口语，美国文化，以及用英文表达中国文化；也培养了美国学生的领导能力，表达能力，于此同时美国学生也提高了中文水平，演讲水平，开阔了学生的国际视野，学会了如何完成现实中的任务。参加这个项目的学生几乎都进入了美国名校。
当今世界，中国与美国是并行于世界的两大社会体系，治国理念，文化传统，管理规则，道德价值等等都有相当的不同。但两个国家的交流合作，或竞争冲突在世界舞台上又扮演了非常重要的作用，所以了解中国，了解不同于西方体系的社会运作系统在世界上如何发挥作用，是非常重要的，对在美国追求卓越的人拥有极大的启迪作用，而此项目能让学生通过实践深入的了解与认识中国。
Program Background
Chinaway Volunteers Program is a summer volunteer program that has been running for more than 10 years. The program's slogan is "Help Others, Improve Yourself". Over the past 16 years, the program has not only helped children in rural China and townships to learn spoken English, American culture, express Chinese culture in English; it has also developed American students' leadership and presentation skills, as well as allowed American students to improve their Chinese, speaking skills, broaden their international vision, and to learn how to accomplish real-world tasks. Almost all the students in this program have attend high ranking Universities.

Chinaway Volunteer Program 已经连续10多年利用暑假时间到中国支教。这个项目不光帮助中国农村，乡镇孩子学习英语口语与美国文化，也锻炼美国学生的演讲能力与领导能力，增加美国学生的国际视野。
Yuxian teaching program
6/7/2020 - 6/20/2020 河北蔚县支教项目
Yuxian County is located in Hebei province and 265 kilometers away from Beijing. Yuxian is an Ancient Town, rich in history and culture but economic underdeveloped. Yuxian county hope their students improve the English and can introduce the culture to Foreign friends. Our volunteer program mainly teaches English inNuanquan Central School. We will teach 5th Grade。
Students of Nuanquan Central School hope that through this cultural exchange between China and the United States, the children can broaden their horizons, increase their interest in English,improve their conversational English, and gain self-confidence. At the same time, the students should be able to express, understand and explain their own culture and the world.
For the American volunteers, objectives include understanding the Chinese cultural symbols of Yuxian County, then teaching it to the students in English. Another objective is working with the school's lesson " Nuanquan, a famous historical and cultural town in China", to assist the Chinese students in completing the Nuanquan Cultural Interpreter Project. The project includes the creation of a presentation in both Chinese and English, and organizing a presentation competition (the Chinese content will be provided by the Chinese side), help in making Chinese and English cultural performances, and develop the students’ ability to host foreign visitors and explain the town’s culture to them in English.
河北省蔚县距离北京265公里，是中国历史文化名镇，现为国家AAA级旅游景区，但经济不发达。蔚县人们希望他们的孩子能提高英语表达能力，可以给外国朋友介绍他们的文化。我们的义工项目主要到蔚县暖泉镇中心校教授英语，我们教的学生是5年级。
暖泉中心校学生，希望通过此次中美文化的交流活动，让孩子们开阔眼界，增强对英语的兴趣，加强英语口语能力,对自己文化的了解与讲解能力。了解世界文化语言，增强自我信心。
美国学生志愿者的具体工作：了解蔚县中国文化符号，翻译为西方人可以理解的语言。结合学校的校本课《中国历史文化名镇—暖泉》，协助中国孩子完成暖泉小小文化讲解员项目，包括讲解词的中英文编写，ppt的制作，组织孩子们进行讲解比赛（中文内容中方会提供），协助创作中英文文化表演，提高中国孩子的表达能力，接待外国人的能力。
