About Us

Royal Chinese Culture Academy (RCCA) is a nonprofit organization in California, USA. We organize volunteer and cultural exchange programs, AKA the Chinaway, for American high and college school students to travel and serve in China. We have completed our Chinaway volunteering operations more than 12 years.

The 2008 Wenchaun earthquake led to an expansion of volunteer work in China. In 2009, the Department of Education and other agencies in Sichuan commissioned China Way to organize a volunteer program for American high school students to volunteer in China. The American students served in rural Chinese villages and formed deep and lasting bonds with the Chinese children they met.

In 2014, ChinaWay Volunteer Program start working with the Chinese Panda Center in which we help fundraiser for the center. For more information, see www.chinawayusa.com. In the United States, our students programs are eligible for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.

Every year, we have been expanding and refining our programs from the feedback from parents and students. In the past six years, our activities in China included: teaching English in rural schools and leading classes and activities for children of migrant workers; volunteering with autistic children, in orphanages, and at homes for the elderly; volunteering and fundraising for the Chinese Panda Center; and visiting cultural attractions such as the World Expo. These programs have fostered cultural exchange between the American students and the Chinese communities in which they have served.

In the process of serving and helping communities in China, the students in our volunteer programs gained leadership skills, improved their Chinese language skills, and developed a valuable international perspective. They learned how to develop lesson plans, management skills, and how adapt in new and foreign environments. Many of our participants have returned to China two or even three times with ChinaWay.
